Thank you for your interest in our adoptable animals. If you would like more information about this pet, see the Shelter information below. We would love to help you rescue a perfect pet!

I met Iman for the first time this morning and I wasn't sure what to expect. She is a very 'solid' girl who quickly showed me she is just a gentle old soul. She sat instantly and allowed me to harness her up in her kennel with no difficulty whatsoever. We trotted outside for her photo shoot where she showed me she is very light on her feet, but would much rather be rolling in the grass, getting those itchy spots on her back. She will roll against you until you succumb and scratch her belly ... as long as you are rubbing, she ain't movin. She was happy to be with someone who showed her some love and enjoyed the sunshine, green grass and the soft breeze. Knows some commands and is a dream to walk on the leash. She was picked up as a stray in the Shadowlawn neighborhood Memorial Day Weekend, wearing a camo harness and leash, someone has cared for this girl. She was kept in impound status for 10 days but unfortunately, no one came forward to claim this beauty. She is now on the adoption floor and is estimated to be between 5-8 years old. She has a beautiful deep chestnut brindle coat with a cute little white starlike spot on her forehead. Iman is good with other dogs, and currently has a bestie, Little Foot, who is also available for adoption. If you have other dogs please bring them along so we can see if they want to be friends. Bring the kids along as well and we'll be happy to bring Iman out to say hello! Come visit her soon at Virginia Beach Animal Care and Adoption Center, 341 S Birdneck Road. You can ask for her in the front lobby if you don't see her on the adoption floor. Thank you for considering adoption!
