This is delightful girl is Abby. She is a 5 year old, 38 pound Border Collie mix whose long coat of black and white seems to float in the wind when she runs and plays. Her foster says she is one of the nicest dogs ever; she's sweet, loving, and eager to please. The only reason we can come up with for her family to throw her out is the hematoma in her ear. Do you see how the left ear turns down? That's because inside of the flap, possibly due to injury or previous infection, a pocket of blood once gathered under the skin. If left too long, it hardens, which then means it's too late to fix it. All it means for the dog, though, is a cute, perpetual ear flop! We think that Abby's jaunty ear reflects her attitude towards life! She's not going to let anything get her down, even the abandonment by her original owners! We know that she's right because we know that another family is going to come along to adopt her, a family who will love her, not in spite of her floppy ear but...because of it!
