As any good Southerner knows, today is the start of College Football! Whether you're yelling "Roll Tide" or "Go Dawgs", cheering for the big Orange or the purple and gold, we hope your team is victorious today! Abby says "Geaux Tigers". Abby also says that she is more than willing to transfer her allegiances to those of any prospective adoptive family. Abby is a 5-6 yo female who is available for adoption. Abby is an absolute rock star. Other than counter surfing, Abby has wonderful house manners, is low energy, and is happy to just hang out with her people. If interested in adopting Abby, please submit an application at www.weimrescue.com!

It's definitely the dog days of summer down South; we've been riding a stifling heat wave for several weeks. Our rescue pups are finding different ways to deal with the oppressive heat, though. Abby has taken up swimming to beat the Louisiana heat (her foster sister, Rory watching over her, was a big help in teaching her to swim)! Abby is available for adoption and is about 6-7 years old, has fantastic house manners, and is a sweet, smart girl. If interested, please submit an application at www.weimrescue.com.

Ask any weimaraner owner and they will tell you that this breed is known for being "velcro" dogs; wherever you go or sit, your weim will be there with you. And, sometimes, that attachment isn't just for people; check out our Abby, available for adoption, "snuggling" with her foster sister, Rory. Or, actually, look at Rory sitting on top of Abby! Did we mention that weims are known for their humorous outlook on life?! Sweet, patient Abby is about 6 years old and (obviously!) very easy going and mild mannered for a weimaraner. Abby would love a quiet home where she can hang out (and preferably NOT be sat on!) If interested in adopting Abby, please submit an application at www.weimrescue.com.

Abby, our Weim of the Month, is the Star Student of her obedience class; look at her go! Her foster parents have done such a fantastic job with Abby, working on her training and socialization skills. Abby is a 6yo female who is looking for her forever home where she can be the only dog or with a submissive dog. Abby has great house manners, is crate trained, and is extremely affectionate. If interested in adopting this sweet girl, please submit an application at www.weimrescue.com.

Sweet Abby is 6 years old. She's housebroken, crate trained, lower energy, loves car rides, and is always up for a game of fetch. She's not super fond of cats. Abby would love to hang out on the couch and snuggle with her person. Abby is also a domestic goddess and is very good at supervising basic household chores, like vacuuming; here she is making sure the Roomba doesn't miss a spot! She will also help you clean off your counters if you forget and leave food out on them! If interested in adopting Abby, please submit an application at www.weimrescue.com.

Abby has had a wonderful time celebrating Mardi Gras, but now she's ready for her forever family! Abby is a wonderful girl; she's housebroken, crate trained, does great with humans of all ages, and she loves car rides. About 6 years old, Abby is the perfect combination of active and cuddly. If interested in adopting Abby, or any of WRS's wonderful rescue pups, please submit an application at www.weimrescue.com.

Please meet WRS's newest rescue, Miss Abby!!!! Abby is a wonderful 6 year old female, who was surrendered by her owners to a New Orleans area shelter. Fortunately for Abby, the shelter quickly alerted a WRS volunteer about her and we were able to quickly commit to her and get her to safety; owner surrenders are not guaranteed any time at public intake shelters and can be euthanized immediately. Abby is a sweet girl; she does well with other dogs, she's heartworm negative, she crates and has lovely house manners. We do believe Abby has a fairly low prey drive. If interested in adopting Abby, please submit an application at www.weimrescue.com.
