Aiden (watch my video!) is an adorable dog looking for a loving new home. I can't overstate how amazingly sweet this pup is. We adopted Aiden in February of 2015 and boy were we in for a treat! Aiden is a 29 lbs lap dog (if you let him). Our best guess is that he is ~2.5 years old by the fact that he's only grown by 2 lbs since we've had him and his super playful temperment. We adopted Aiden so that our first dog would have a playmate and in spite of Aiden's dog reactivity the two pups were inseparable for months. Aiden fit into our family life instantaneously. My boyfriend and I have lived with Aiden in apartments ranging in size from a studio to a 2 bedroom. Aiden loves going for runs but most often he just gets a nice walk in the morning and in the evening and playtime. His favorite games during playtime with his humans are fetch catch (mostly balls but he's caught a Frisbee the few times we tried) and tug (which we pair with a drop so that he doesn't think he's in charge). 'Search' for treats/food and puzzle games are really fun too! While being a medium-high energy dog when he's sniffing/walking outside Aiden is a total couch potato when he is inside :) He LOVES chomping on bones and is content to bring a bone over to where you're sitting to chomp on it by your side (did I mention his lap dog tendencies?!). In spite of being a stray in his former life Aiden only had one accident the first day we brought him home but a simple/stern 'No' was all he needed to learn the boundaries and he hasn't had an accident in any house since. Aiden has never tried to chew on electronics/cables. If his ball accidentally rolls close to some cables during playtime it's really adorable to watch him zip around and then slow down to figure out how to get the ball without disturbing the cables or look up at you with his adorable sweet eyes for help so that he doesn't get himself into trouble. Aiden is unbelievably adaptable and quick to learn new skills. When we first adopted Aiden we let the dogs onto the furniture and they slept curled up in bed with us. We needed to crate train Aiden when the dogs stopped getting along and our current trainer advised us to restrict the dogs' access to the furniture. Aiden took to his new boundaries with ease. He will still try to sneak up onto the couch for a nap if you leave the room for long enough (yep he's a dog) but he will jump off when you come back into the room with a cute look on his face and his tail wagging behind him. Then he loves his crate. When you open the door and ask him to go in he happily prances in with his tail wagging. When he isn't in his crate he most often brings a toy over to his pillow bed for a comfy place to relax. In his first puppy class Aiden became a champion at 'sit' 'down' 'stay' and knowing his name. Since then he has learned 'come' 'drop' 'look at me' 'search' and 'bang!' which we most often pair with a down. He's gotten into the habit of automatically moving into a 'bang!' side pose after a down which I don't the heart to correct. After gushing on and on about Aiden there are a number of things that I love about him that don't fit easily into a paragraph. Some of these things include:1. Aiden has the BEST puppy smell ever. When I'm having a bad day all I need to do is scoop him up and take a deep breath to start feeling better.2. Aiden loves to snuggle. He's just the right size to scoop up and hold like baby during a hug.3. Puppy kisses are spontaneous if you don't mind them (especially during the above mentioned hug) but he will learn if you don't want the kisses.4. I've never seen a dog's tail wag as often as Aiden's does. When he's excited it'll go a mile a minute. Even when you ask him to sit when he is excited his tail will continue to wag in his sit. ADORABLE.5. When he was allowed on the furniture he used to 'wheelbarrel' with his front paws on the floor and back legs stretched out on the bed while he would chomp on a bone. I don't know where he picked this up but it's really funny to watch.6. His crate bedding (a blanket and a towel) is never in the same spot when you go to let him out. Sometimes it is all bunched up into a ball in the back of the crate and sometimes both items are so perfectly smooth that I've asked my boyfriend if he straightened it out (it's always been Aiden). He's such a quirky little guy!7. Everyone that spends more than a day with him falls in love with him. We needed to board Aiden for a few days for the first time this summer and again for a night a month later. The woman working at the desk when we came in the second time scooped him up to smell him give him kisses and scratches on his butt. We had seen this reaction to him with family and friends but I was surprised (although I shouldn't have been) that his charm extended so strongly to strangers!8. Going for walks with Aiden inevitably results in someone coming up to you and commenting on how adorable he is. People are always shocked to learn that he isn't a puppy anymore!9. Aiden sometimes prances when he is walking. It's entirely too cute. My boyfriend and I love Aiden more than anything. He has dog reactivity which takes work to understand but is manageable with attention and care. If he and our first dog could relearn to trust each other we would keep him in a heartbeat. Our sole desire is to find Aiden a new loving forever home. Do you have room in your heart and home for this sweet pup?! If you are interested in Aiden please fill out the FFR dog adoption application and the Guardian will receive it. Guardian will contact potential matches to discuss Aiden answer any questions and set up a visit. Guardian is asking for $100 donation to FFR at time of adoption.YouTube: https://youtu.be/KuW0fMrRwZk
