Ajax is an amazing dog! He listens extremely well. He will sit, lay down, stay, and come when called. He will also sit, stay, and wait (for food, if you throw the ball and don’t want him to go get it yet, etc.) until you tell him “ok” or “go”. He loves loves loves to cuddle! He gives kisses if you ask him to (by doing the kissy noise), but he doesn’t constantly lick! He absolutely loves food (dog food and human food). Ajax can get obsessed with bones and should be in a safe area when he is allowed to have that special treat. He also loves to eat ice cubes! He will come running when he hears you getting ice. He walks great on a leash – after a few reminders he doesn’t pull and will walk right by you. He does love to chase squirrels, so you have to remind him not to if you see some when you are out. Ajax is a great traveler! He loves his head out the window and will ride the entire car ride that way if you let him. He’s been on numerous 15+ hour road trips with his previous family and has always done amazing! When you go out for the day, you do need to leave him in a kennel – he has separation anxiety and will chew things if he isn’t put away but he is fine staying in his crate. He loves to play with tennis balls and play fetch! He is so sweet and so friendly, he just really needs a family without young kids who can give him the love and attention he needs and so much wants and deserves. Ajax lacks a little self confidence and a child that is eye level with him makes him nervous. He would do better with kids over 12. He loves playing with other dogs however, depending on the other dogs temperament, Ajax may or may not get along with them. But for the most part, as long as he is off his leash, Ajax just wants to run around and play. He does play rough like all “bully” breeds do, but you are able to very distinctly tell the difference when he is just playing and when he is just being a jerk. He is so sweet and so friendly, he just really needs a family without very young children who can give him the love and attention he needs and that he so much deserves.
