All of our dogs are in loving foster homes. The foster parents have written the bios you will read with what they know about each dog. If you are interested in one of our dogs, rather than sending an inquiry through Petfinder, please fill out an application following our link http://www.ratterrierrescue.ca/apps/form.html. It will be forwarded to the foster home where any questions can be answered. Allie is fostered in Oshawa
Allie is a fun loving 2-4 year old (estimated) 14 pound spayed female and is up to date on her vaccinations. She is a very happy go lucky dog with a tail that never stops wagging.
Everyone we have met on our walks have commented on how sweet she is. She is house trained and is fine being crated when necessary. At night she goes to her dog bed and doesn't move until morning. Allie has a very good appetite. We are using a slow bowl since she eats so quickly. Coming from a home where food was scarce, we have to let her know that she will never go hungry again and that she can take her time. She was very well mannered at the vet clinic, eager to take a treat after having her nails clipped but she will jump off the table when you least expect it!
Allie is toy hoarder. Anything that squeaks she'll drag from the toy box. She always up for a game of toss as well. It may take a couple of tugs to get it out of her mouth but she'll release it. You have to watch your fingers, you might get slightly bite because of her enthusiasm. Allie is full of spunk but also knows when to settle down. She can be vocal when either playing with another dog or hearing noises. For this reason she is better suited for a single home dwelling, not an apartment or townhouse. Allie would be well suited with children ranging from 10 years old and up. She walks good on leash and is always alert when she sees a squirrel. I do a quick little tug on the leash to let her know she can look but no pulling or charging. She'll get right into your space to lick your face or show you her chewie or toy.
Not sure what more I can say about this gal...she is a joy to foster!
