One look into her eyes, and you'll know why this jewel of a kitty is named Amber. Her stunning gold eyes will just warm your heart. Legend has it that a cat's eyes are the window to her soul, and what you find in Amber's soul is a kitty that loves attention, and repays her humans by being very loving and social. A wonderful and mellow companion, Amber loves the indoor-only life at her foster home where she watches all the neighborhood happenings from the safety of a window perch. Sadly, Amber's human died recently. The daughters of the deceased man are trying to rehome Amber and her three housemates (Cleo, Louie (Amber's actual brother), and Norma Jean) and get their lives back to normal in a loving home as quickly as possible. Adopting a young adult is a 10-20 year commitment, is beneficial because their personalities are already developed, and will provide many years of love, devotion, entertainment, and companionship. Amber's ideal humans are those who crave the quiet nature and loving personality of a young adult, and will happily include her in their daily activities. She'll do best in a quiet home with adults and older children to keep her company. She's a bit cautious around other cats because her brother Louie tends to bully her, but she should do fine in a home with another mellow, passive kitty or a cat-friendly dog. With a loving family, she'll be a wonderful and constant companion for many years. Born in 2008, Amber is an orange tabby DSH female, is spayed, fully vaccinated, tested negative for FIV/FeLV, dewormed, deflead, and microchipped for identification. She uses the litterbox and scratching post, and must be indoors-only. Please contact Amber's foster mom at email@example.com or call (408) 228-4440 (voicemail) for more information about adoption; messages returned within 24 hours. This is a courtesy posting.
