Looking for a new best friend?
Anubis is seriously AWESOME. Sociable, studly, super people-oriented, goofy, dog friendly, snuggly, affectionate, crate and potty trained, almost a loose-leash walker, medium-energy, and a beefy low-rider. He's move-in ready. =)
More Detailed Description:
Oh, Anubis. So many good things to say about this beefy low-rider!
First off, he is SWEET AS PIE! And studly. Always looking to us for guidance and reassurance that he's doing well. He REALLY likes people and follows us around the house, eager for our attention and a butt scratch. Mild-mannered and medium energy; just as content to wander around the yard with us or go for a long walk as he is to snuggle up on the couch for a nap or play with a toy. Gets along well with our other 2 pit bulls, a boy and a girl. Our girl is the alpha and he submits to her; he plays rougher with our boy. He is very responsive to verbal correction.
Does well in a kennel; we crated and rotated for the first few days just to get the dogs used to one another; they now roam freely. He sleeps in the kennel at night as well. Yelps for the first 10 - 15 minutes and then sleeps without a peep for the entire night, even when my husband or I get up to go to the bathroom.
Seems to be pretty well house trained. Marked once when he was meeting our boy dog for the first time. He had one accident in the house the second day, but I caught him in the act and scolded him. Sweet little thing put himself in the corner and hung his head. He knows exactly what to do when he's let outside. Does his business and comes right back to the door to be let in.
We walk for 45 minutes each day and he's already nearly a loose-leash walker now!
This guy is awesome! He is going to make his adopter(s) so happy. He just wants to be your best bud and snuggle with you at night. =)

If you live in MN, WI, IA, SD, ND, or IL and would like to meet/adopt this animal or anyone else, then please fill out an adoption application at http://secondhandhounds.org/adoption-information/ and the foster(s) will be in touch! Keep in mind that there may be multiple applicants applying for the same animal(s). You only need to complete 1 application for multiple animals that you're interested in.
Note - We change an animal's listing to say "PENDING ADOPTION" when they already had a meet and greet with a family who plans to adopt that animal. We put "NO LONGER ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS" on a listing when an animal has multiple applications in and the foster has asked to stop accepting any more while they review the applications they've already received.
