I am Arpana, I was born into a litter of 6 other pups. We had a reasonably good life living outside of a foreign compound in Kabul until one day a huge explosion changed everything for us.
We were about 5 weeks old, our mom and the guards at the compound had done a great job of raising us then one day a truck bomb exploded outside the compound and killed our mom. We were saved because our mom had kept us hidden. The guards at the compound continued to take care of us and a few days later they reported to the foreigners that our mom had been killed in the attack and although they were doing their best to help us they needed help so we were brought to the nowzad shelter.
At first we were completely terrified, in a few short days we had been involved in a huge bomb blast, lost our mom and now we were in a totally new place with people we had never seen before. It did not take us long to realise the people at the nowzad clinic were going to help us and we soon settled into several good meals a day and plenty of play time.
I am still a little skittish of people I am not familiar with but with time I will become a faithful and loyal pet. I am good with other dogs, I have not been formally introduced to cats but it is felt that with my calm nature I would not be a problem with cats if introduced slowly.
I am chipped, vaccinated and fixed with no known health issues
