As a child of the 80’s, I can’t hear the name “Ariel” without immediately thinking of The Little Mermaid. While Ariel’s water proclivities have yet to be tested, it’s hard to not compare her to Disney’s heroic, red-headed heroine who wanted nothing more than “to be where the people are.” Ariel is a four year old, pit bull mix who has never wanted anything other than a forever family of her very own. She doesn’t have any talking fish, sea gull, or crab side kicks (that we know of), but she does have an incredible desire to be loved. She’s energetic and at times rambunctious (like Ariel the mermaid) but with a little guidance and energy management, has been doing very well. She is currently in a board and train program with a local trainer, but needs placement as soon as her program is over. Ariel would do best in a home without cats or young children, and with a family committed to continuing her training and keeping her well exercised. Given proper introductions, Ariel will do well with another canine companion, like her foster sibling (a small chi mix). Like mermaid Ariel, dog Ariel simply needs to find a place where she truly belongs.
