Aru's person had to relocate out of state and due to financial reasons couldn't take her along, leaving poor 'Aru-chan' in need of a new home. Luckily, her person had a friend who was willing to foster her until a new home is found.
Moving to a new home was frightening at first. She immediately found her safe spot underneath the bed and spent most of her time there. Even so, from the beginning she never once rejected a comforting pet on the head from her new foster-person. She soon gained confidence to emerge, and now she is more often seen sprawled lazily in the center of the room, inviting you to scratch her belly.
Though still shy around strangers, Aru loves to snuggle next to her human on the couch or on the bed and purr. She'll headbutt your hand and give a chirping meow to demand attention. She is 11 years young and still loves to play, eagerly going after a feather toy. She is a gentle, affectionate, and all-around wonderful cat. Her foster-person even wishes she could keep Aru for herself, but unfortunately Aru is frightened by other cats, of which there are two already living in the home. She would be much happier as an only cat.
