Lovely Lab Lady Looking for a New "Leash" on Life!
ASIA NEEDS A FOSTER OR FOREVER HOME!!!!
Name: Asia Breed: Labrador Retriever mix
Approximate Age: 2-3 years old SEX: female
Approximate Weight: 45 lbs
Has Lived With: other dogs
Currently Living at: Shelter. Asia needs a foster!
Well, hi there! I'm Asia, a sweet-as-can-be Labrador Retriever mix. I'm about 2-3 years old, and I weigh around 45 lbs, so I'm actually a more medium size as far as lab mixes go! I found out recently that I'm going to be coming to the DC area soon, and let me tell you, I CANNOT WAIT!!
At my age, you can be sure that while I'll still have plenty of energy for long walks, playing fetch at the dog park, or going on outings to farms or hiking with you, I'm old enough that I've left all those crazy puppy times behind me! Doesn't that sound just perfect? I'd also make an excellent co-pilot when you're driving here and there, an ideal companion for when you're sitting out on a cool night with the fire pit going, or a loyal couch buddy when you're watching a movie or reading a good book! As long as I'm with you, I'm a happy girl!
I've been getting along great with my dog buddies here at the shelter, but I haven't been around cats or kids yet--so we can test to see how I do when I get to town! Additionally, I sure would like you to sign me up for an adult obedience class, because even though I know I'm a sweetheart, I would like to learn how to sit and stay nicely, or walk on a leash and greet other dogs and people politely, too. I know you can't tell just by looking at me, but I'm a very scholarly girl!
So, what are you waiting for? Are you ready to get this friendship started? Submit an application for me today!
Like most shelter dogs, Asia may need a refresher on housetraining. She is likely crate trained.
Asia has tested positive and will be treated for Heartworm disease. Heartworm is not contagious to people or other pets, but results from mosquito bites. Heartworm, if left untreated, is life threatening, but after treatment, dogs that were heartworm positive should suffer no significant long-term effects so long as they are kept on a monthly heartworm preventative.
The adoption fee for this dog is $450, which includes the cost of routine vetting, including vaccinations, spay/neuter, and heartworm treatment. If you are interested in adopting, please download our Adoption Questionnaire and email it to Liz K. at email@example.com!
