Axel came to the shelter when his owner passed away and he had nowhere else to go. He was so afraid, when people tried to interact with him he would crowd into the furthest corner of his kennel and just shake. Fortunately, a sweet foster with a patient heart stepped up and opened her home to him and our boy Axel has made huge strides in overcoming his fear! He is house trained and will let you know if he needs to go outside by sitting by the door, he enjoys the company of other dogs though he does need to be in a home without cats. He has progressed so much around people he no longer shakes when around people and loves to be pet. As it turns out, once he gets to know you he''s actually a cuddler! He is such a sweetheart and he is now ready for a forever home. Axel is currently in foster care, if you''d like to meet him please call the Humane Society at (254) 754-1454.
