This beautiful girl is Baby, and she has had a rough life thus far. She was saved by her rescuer from a man who was taking her down a logging road in the forest to shoot her. She had come up in his yard and he didn't want a dog - especially not a female dog. For two weeks she hung around his property even though he didn't feed her. Finally he just loaded her in his truck and took her to the logging road. Luckily, the rescuer happened along on her mail route at just the right time. She stopped her car, thinking the man's truck had broken down, and offered to help. The man pulled his rifle out of the truck and said he was just fine but he needed to get rid of a dog. The rescuer got a look at Baby and was heartbroken. Baby was so pitiful - skinny with her head down and tail tucked between her legs. She just looked at the rescuer, seemingly begging her to help. Lucky for Baby, the man was more than happy to give her to the rescuer. The rescuer took her home and for a while thought she would keep her. She has such a sad story, and the rescuer felt so bad for her. She has numerous old scars, which the vet thinks might be from having been used as a bait dog. As much as the rescuer wanted to keep her, she is very active in fostering dogs, and has decided that it would be best for Baby if she gets adopted by a wonderful family.
Baby gets along great with most dogs. However, in her current situation, if there is a minor altercation between the other dogs she jumps right into the middle of it. Thus, Baby needs to be in a home where she can be an only child or with another dog like her buddy Tucker (the red dog in the picture), whom she plays with all of the time. Baby is 58 pounds and is an inside dog. She needs a large 6' tall fenced in yard where she can play. She shows an interest in the rescuer's inside cat and has gone after the feral cats around the home, so she should probably not be in a home with a cat. She is friendly toward people but she is not currently around young children, so it would probably be best for her to be in a home without young children. Baby needs someone who can spend time with her. Preferably someone who is accustomed to Pit Bulls. She is very sweet, housebroke, and UTD on her shots. The vet believes that she is spayed and that she is about 1-2 years old. She walks well on a lead and knows basic commands. Baby is very intelligent. She learns very fast. She's also a big cuddle bug! Baby likes nothing better than to sit with you on the couch or lay next to you in bed and snuggle up close. Please consider giving Baby a new home. Posted 11/10/2015.
