Are you the adventurous type looking for a canine buddy to join in on the fun? Barky is your boy!
This handsome guy has enjoyed hiking trips to McKinney Falls and even completed this year's UT Longhorn Run with his favorite volunteer. Barky is a regular out on the Ladybird Lake trail, too, where he shows off his excellent leash manners. Though he loves to get his exercise, we wouldn't call him high-energy. He loves cuddling on the couch and relaxing at home.
Although his name is Barky, he actually doesn't bark a lot. In fact, he's pretty well-mannered. He is crate-trained and seems house-trained. He knows "sit," "down," and "shake." He has also successfully completed three weeks of training at a local training facility. He plays well with other dogs, as long as there are no toys or food around - he doesn't like to share his things. He would enjoy play dates or group hikes with some canine friends, though he'd be most comfortable being an only child in his home.
Barky is looking for an active home that also recognizes the importance of affection and belly rubs. If that sounds like yours, come meet Barky!
Barky's best volunteer friend wrote a wonderful post about him for APA!'s blog! Check it out here:http://www.austinpetsalive.org/2016/05/how-i-fell-in-love-with-barky-and-how-you-can-too/#more-36184
