10/7/16 - Barron is a super sweet, happy and playful pup. He is very affectionate and loves to snuggle. If you give him any attention he will lean towards you and snuggle up for some pets and love. He does the same to my husband and other people he meets. He is very cuddly, huggable and kissable.
Barron gets along great with my dog Lucy and my other foster dog. I took him to dog parks and he had no problems with male, female, big or small dogs. Absolutely no negative behavior when my dog goes for his treat, toy, food or food bowl. He just walks away if my dog is near his food or treats. He is a gentleman and will let other dogs drink water first and patiently waits his turn.
Barron is obedient and eager to please. He will stop whatever he is doing with a simple “ack ack”. He will sit for treats and takes treats very nicely. He is housetrained and crate trained. He will go in the crate for a treat or when led in with leash and he stays without any issues.
Barron has free range of the house now - he does not chew anything he is not supposed to. Barron is easy to bathe and great in the car. Like most dogs, he loves to chase squirrels, his favorite toy is the squeaky small animal ones. He does not destroy it, he carries it around the yard and will try to bury it, but will give it up easily. His favorite pastime is sitting on the steps and looking out the window. He is calm and quiet in the house. He will play fetch in the yard and run around the yard especially when he is being chased.
I took him to several adoption events, unfortunately Barron does not show well at events. Barron is very playful, he gets too excited with all the barking dogs or dogs playing in the play pen. He does well with other dogs, but he will give a warning growl if another dog goes near his face when he is on leash. He ignores other dogs and prefers to sniff around during walks. He is fine after proper introduction, my dogs kisses his face all the time. He is great meeting other dogs off leash at the park, letting dogs sniff him or even get close to his face.
I do not have any cats or kids. I don’t think he will be good with cats, since he likes to chase small animals. He is gentle with kids he meets, but since he is a big dog and very playful, I am concerned he will knock kids down during play. He only jumps when he plays, he never jumped on my husband before, only me and my dog. My husband does not play with him. If I feel like he is getting too rough, he will stop with a firm “no” or “ack ack” and sit on command.
Barron is as sweet as they come. Everybody that meets him likes him - being handsome and cute doesn’t hurt either. Although listed as a bulldog, he does not slobber. He will make a great family dog or companion. Please consider giving him a loving and forever home.
