10/12/16 UPDATE: Foster mom (FM) says I’m improving every day. I rarely have an accident in the house now. Usually it’s only a small tinkle because I get so excited. I’m getting more used to the grass too. I go outside through the doggie door quite often now. I will run around in the fenced yard with my foster brother and sister. I do pretty well on a leash too. I try not to pull and most of the time I can manage it. Of course, if there’s another dog or cat I just can’t wait but I have to listen to my human so I’ll stay safe.
Everyone at my foster home is really good to me but my dream is to have my own furever home. If you’re looking for a sweet little girl that loves to lie in your lap or beside you in the chair, I’m the one! I just need love from you, oh and food of course, and I will give you lots of love in return. Please consider me to join your family!
My foster mom says I’m a sweet little girl who loves human attention. I like to lay in your lap in the evening when you are watching TV or reading.
I’m doing really good in my foster home considering I was a breeder dog and lived outside until AADR found me. I lost a few teeth when the vet checked me out but I eat dry kibble without any problem. I’m a little stubborn but I’m working on pottying outside. I’m okay with dirt and pavement/concrete but I’m still learning about grass. I’m getting used to it but I definitely don’t like it when it’s wet.
I will nap most anywhere during the day but prefer the couch or an open door crate. I didn’t like the crate when I first arrived at my foster home but now it’s fine. I sleep in the crate at night and stay in it when all my humans are gone for a while. I don’t think I would like it all day.
I’m not sure how I’d be around children or cats because I’ve never had the experience. I’m fine with my doggie foster brother and sister. I like to bark when I hear anything outside especially when my foster brother is barking. I would really like a furever home where I could have a brother or sister and humans that would love me and take care of me furever!
If you think you might have a good home for me, please contact my foster mom, Teresa at firstname.lastname@example.org. I’ll be waiting to hear from you!
=============== Information for all dogs/adopters ==============
If you have questions about this dog please feel free to contact the foster home at the email address listed above. They have the most up-to-date information concerning the dog and would be happy to answer any questions about the animal.
We welcome out of state and Canadian adoptions, but we will not ship any dog via cargo. You will have to make arrangements to pick up the dog or for them to go by ground transport. If you choose transporting by either volunteers through our organization or by paid transporter, there will be an additional $45 Fee added for the required Health Certificate.
We will not adopt into the state of CT, RI or MA due to strict laws regarding importation of dogs into those states. If you have an issue with this, you need to take this up with your legislatures.
We are now approved to adopt/foster in the state of NH but adopters will have to pay health certificate fee of $45.00 once to get the dog to our quarantine facility and another $50.00 fee to get the dog out of quarantine after two days.
To understand the adoption process through AADR, please visit the Adoption Information. Transportation options are outlined on that page in Step 3.
If you are interested in adopting this Dachshund please Read Before You Adopt and then you can complete an Application.
THANK YOU FOR YOUR INTEREST IN A RESCUE.
Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast or up and down the West Coast. We just can't get them from one Coast to the other but some day we hope to have enough volunteers to do that as well. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
You are trying to help so many to find a good home. I will even try to tell people about you if they are looking for any type of dog or cat just to help you and them find a new home with new mom and dad god. Hope you have a grateful day and God Bless!
