Belle is a very sweet, but misunderstood kitty. She was adopted into a very loving home but after lots of attempts to make Belle happy, it just was not working out. Belle was adopted into a home where she was the only animal in the home. It became apparent that in the home, Belle had a lot of built up energy and anxiety. She is loving and affectionate, but it seems that she gets bored and then the boredom turns into anxiety... and then she takes it out on her family. The happiest Belle has been was when the family adopted a cat-friendly dog. BUT, the dog had separation anxiety and started tearing up the house... and was returned back to the shelter. After the dog was returned, Belle began acting out again. Belle really needs an experienced cat owner that has a cat-friendly dog or two. Preferably no younger children in the home and instead (if children) older, understanding children. Belle seems to not like other cats, but in the shelter environment it is hard to tell if this is due to the amount of other cats around, or, if she truly does not like other cats at all. Please come by the shelter to visit with Belle to see if she is a good fit for you home. She is a very sweet cat, but very misunderstood and is in need of a very specific home environment.. is this yours?
Bernadette is an extremely sweet, affectionate kitty. She is not demanding, but loves attention when it is given to her. She was found by animal control with burn wounds on her paws. She was unable to find a forever home while in their care, so we pulled her into our no-kill shelter in hopes to find her second chance. Bernadette is is all healed up and ready to love again. Please--give this sweet girl a chance!

Thank you for choosing to adopt!
As a no-kill rescue, we can only bring in and save more cats and kittens in need as our current cats and kittens are adopted. This is why we say that when you adopt one cat or kitten you are actually saving TWO lives! One is the current cat or kitten that you are adopting, the second is the one that we now have room to save and place into our safe shelter.
About The Cat Corner:
The Cat Corner was founded by a very passionate and devoted animal lover, Martha Nicholson. After seeing an overwhelming number of cats homeless and being euthanized, Martha was determined to open a no-kill shelter to make a difference in these cats' lives. In 1981, Martha purchased an old barber shop at her own expense and opened The Cat Corner in Hampton, Virginia. The Cat Corner is a completely volunteer operated organization and is solely funded by donations from the community. Because of the help of our caring and hardworking volunteers and the support and donations from our community, we have been able to uphold Martha's dream and make a difference in countless lives...and doing so for over three decades!
The Cat Corner, Inc. is a nonprofit, all-volunteer-run organization that does not receive any federal, state or local government funding. We depend solely from the generosity of caring individuals from our community to continue to do our work. www.TheCatCornerInc.com
