Ben is being fostered in Yorktown, VA*and is a large size hairy hairless chinese crested who is just about as sweet, kind and gentle as he can be. He is polite, thoughtful and will play a perfect game of fetch when he's in the mood. He also loves to cuddle.
He's good with respectful children but becomes a little nervous around chaos. Gets along great with other dogs and didn't seem phased by the one fat cat he met. He enjoys car rides and does okay on the leash (pulls a bit).
Ben has a non-clinical grade 4 heart murmur. Presently, he is not on any medication. Research and knowledge of heart murmurs is essential when considering adopting Ben. A conversation with a vet is recommended. There are many sites online describing this condition; here is just one: http://dogsaholic.com/care/heart-murmur-in-dogs.html
*Ben was surrendered with his brother Jerry, who is also available. They do not need to be adopted together but we think Ben would be happiest with another dog in the home.
*The transportation of a dog from foster home to adoptive home is the financial responsibility of the adopter. Transport by personal vehicle is generally preferable. Only applicants within driving distance (whatever that means to you) should apply.
