My name is Benji. I am an active guy with handsome tuxedo markings (the ladies love it – LOL). Are you looking for a companion for your dog? I need a friend too. I love other dogs and they all love me. I have lots of energy and can play all day! As a matter of fact, my trainer says the more I play the more relaxed I get. I also love to be out and about with just my human. He is a college student, so I have been living in a dorm with him, where sometimes getting enough exercise is a challenge. I am pretty smart, as I have been trained to work out on the treadmill and will do between 1.5 and 2 miles if my human lets me. I have been trained by Angie Woods, a great trainer, at her center. I am good in the house and fine in a crate. I know how to use a dog door to let myself out too. I walk perfectly on a leash and listen to commands. I am fine around cats, and I am not a big barker. I know my current owner loves me, and the thought of me leaving him makes him very sad. Nevertheless, he is a college student, and we live in a dorm, which is not the life he thinks I need. It makes me anxious to be in such a small space sometimes and I have bitten out of anxiousness or my perceived need to protect my ‘space’. Basically, I need to burn my energy in a big yard! Angie, the awesome trainer, thinks I would be best in a home with a dog-savvy owner who wants to continue my training. She thinks in the right environment, I will be fine. Of course, it may be best to limit my exposure to children and strangers for a while until we get to know each other better, so best no kids in my future home. A fenced in yard is a must for me right now. I enjoy cuddling with my human and getting treats. I really am a good dog---I just need to find a special ‘dog person’ who will give me a chance to show you how great I can be! I'm current on vaccinations, microchipped, on heartworm and flea preventative and am neutered. My adoption fee is $100.00. Please contact Andrew at firstname.lastname@example.org for more information about me as I do not come to Mostly Mutt adoptions. This is a courtesy posting. Mostly Mutts has no first-hand knowledge of Benji and explicitly disclaims any liability for any situation arising from this private adoption.

Angie Woods operates U.S. Canine, a canine rehabilitation center, located in Buford, GA. She has been working with dogs for over 20 years. Angie currently has a pack of over 20 dogs. Her pack is balanced, therefore can assist in the rehabilitation of client dogs. The Atlanta Dog Whisperer and dog behavior expert, Angie, has been labeled the "Dr. Phil" of the dog world. Dog owners want to know techniques that really work. She delivers real solutions with her tell it like it is approach.
Angie, and U.S. Canine, focus on the following when rehabilitating dogs:
Aggression Phobias Hyperactivity Excessive Barking Bad Manners The "pack behavior" approach yields amazing results. Many people seek obedience training before establishing pack leadership, this is backwards. Obedience training should be the follow-up after all behavior problems have been addressed.
U.S. Canine focuses on training people to be good pack leaders and dogs to be good followers.
