Bert was found on Christmas Eve. He was living in a storm drain in a neighborhood. We left him some food on the curb and figured he was a feral. We went back each night and Bert started talking and talking to us. By New Years Eve, he was wrapping himself between our feet as we walked. Poor boy had been lost for some time. With all the fireworks around, we decided to take Bert home.
Bert has suprised us! He is litterbox trained, perfect manners, likes other cats, LOVES catnip. We assumed Bert was younger because he runs up and down the hallway. We were told he could be between 6-10. There is NOT a lap Bert does not like. He loves all kinds of company as well.
He is an all around WONDERFUL cat!!
*** April update. Bert is the BOMB. One of the sweetest cats I have rescued. Likes everyone who visits, is fine with ANY cat (even the ones who attacked him and sent him to the vet). 100% lap cat. Adopting an older black cat will be extremely hard but hoping someone falls for his wonderful personality :-) He also seems to love teenagers. We figure he must have had kids in his previous life.
Aug. Update: With all the summer company we have had, Bert has been super happy. The more laps, the happier he is. A sofa full of people, i.e., laps, is his absolute favorite. We think Bert would do best in a home with a family or if a quieter home, another friendly cat as a buddy. He would love a feline companion to gently play with.
We hope someone can give Bert the forever home he deserves. If you are looking for a calm, relaxing lap cat, look no further. You found him!!!!
