Dahlia and Bethany are a beautiful mother-daughter duo. Dahlia is a 7-year-old, 60 pound Black Labrador mix and her daughter, Bethany, is a 3-year-old, 55 pound Lab/Golden Retriever mix. Both of these girls are totally loving dogs who get along well with other dogs of all sizes. It's possible they'd also get along with a dog-savvy cat in their future family. We would love if these girls could go to the same home - they've been through a lot and it would be nice if they could stay together.
Bethany is precious and gives lots of kisses. She makes new friends quickly and loves to be cuddled. She's really a doll. One of Bethany's legs has appears to be have been deformed from birth, but she still gets around fairly easily. She'll just need a little extra TLC and maybe a little extra help now and then! It's apparent that no one ever taught her that being on a leash was fun and safe - she'll need a loving person to slowly show her that she won't get pulled around. The leash can throw her off balance because of her leg and that can be scary for her. She's has a gentle spirit, wants to be loved and to love you in return.
Her mama, Dahlia, is also a gentle sweetheart. She's a little more reserved but warms up quickly to new people and enjoys affection. She appears to be healthy and would be a great companion for a hike.
These dogs were rescued by a good samaritan after being posted on social media as "unwanted" dogs. They were in bad shape, infested with ticks and quite shy. He did a great job getting them healthy and happy but he is recovering from an accident and can no longer keep them.
