Hi! I'm Bette and am so glad that NPBR offered to rescue me. My previous owners used me for breeding and kept me in the back yard. I have some ongoing issues because of my previous life. I am now 7 years old and have been in rescue for a few years because of my special requirements for my furever home. My foster family says I'm very sweet and lovable. I like to go on car rides and curl up next to my family on the couch. Although they do say I'm a bed hog. That's the great things about me. I do have a few challenges though. I'm very slow at warming up to other dogs and there are some that I will never get along with. I do have a foster boxer brother that is my best friend, but introductions to other dogs have to be super slow, like a minimum of two weeks. I have separation anxiety and left alone too long I will start to be destructive. Crating me isn't a good option either because I hurt myself trying to get out of it. I also have a high prey drive and can't live in a home with cats or other small animals. I love and trust my foster family, but sometimes I get a little too protective when new people come around. My foster family has worked with me on my issues and will ensure my furever home knows, understands and is committed to my special needs.
