Age: I am about 10 years old
About Me: Hi, my name is Bettie. I was originally an only cat, but my parents’ health prevented them from taking care of me. I moved in with my foster mom, but she had 4 cats of her own and I came to realize I really prefer being the center of attention. What I’m looking for is a home where I can be your one and only. Don’t let my age fool you, I still like to play and get lots of petting. My favorite toys are shoe strings and catnip “cigars” but I also enjoy playing with bees and feathers dangling from wands.
I’m a pretty independent lady but I would like to curl up next to you on the couch and sit on your lap if you’re at your desk. I really like getting petted, giving you head bumps and an occasional kiss. I have good manners, I won’t try to eat your food or jump up on your counters. I only jump up on the couch or chair – to be by you! On the rare occasion I jump on the kitchen counter, it’s probably because I’m out of food. You will know when I’m hungry!
I’m currently eating Fancy Feast Classics – Seafood Feast and Salmon Shrimp are my personal favorites. I like most dry foods, but I have to eat a special diet now as one of my foster brothers is diabetic. I will do fine on a mix of wet and dry food. I am pretty fussy when it comes to treats but I really enjoy freeze dried chicken ones and may even squeak when you open the bag. Did I mention my adorable meow? It comes out almost like a squeak. I like to spend my days sleeping in the sun, watching birds and squirrels out the window, eating, playing with toys and keeping you company.
Due to the fact I do much better when I am the star of the show, it would be best if I went to a home where I am the only pet. I may be able to adapt to a younger, independent male cat if there is enough space for us to have some independence. Unfortunately, I get very scared around dogs. I have never been around children. My foster mom thinks I would do fine with older respectful children. I can get a little overexcited when getting petted and will give “love bites” to your hand. I don’t have my fangs anymore so the bites don’t hurt, but those love nips could startle a younger child.
I’m a pretty easy maintenance cat – I use my box, I let you clip my claws, I don’t get into things or wreak havoc in the house. I like to chill in the sun, get some attention from my person(s) play and EAT! Plus, not to brag, but I’m a gorgeous girl! I love to have my picture taken and my baby blues look so great in photos! I haven’t had a chance to shine in my foster home but going solo will give me a chance to spread my wings and give my love to you.
