Bianca is a 9 year beautiful red and white colored Boston terrier. She just exudes radiance and is a magnificent, very, very sweet and smart lady. She has diabetes which lead to glaucoma in both her eyes. The glaucoma required surgery and removal of her eyes, which saddened us deeply, but we are pretty sure she actually could not see at all. Her diabetes is under control with insulin shots twice a day and prescription dog food. She has learned to maneuver around her foster home remarkably. She is capable of going in and out a dog door. She paws in front of her to find her way and very smart to catch the layout of her surroundings. Bianca does get along with the other furkids in her foster home but she needs to be properly introduced and given an opportunity to know who is in her pack. Bianca even plays with one of her foster siblings as best she can. They are such hams. She was at a baby sitter with a cat so might be okay with the fur kitties, but she does seem to get excited at the vet clinic when the kitties come around, so a cat in the house would need to be tested to see how she would actually react. Bianca was extremely skinny when she came to CAWS but has since put on a couple pounds, around 19 to 20 pounds. She has a great appetite, so slow and steady she might put on another pound or two. Due to her disability of having no eyes Bianca needs to go to a home with older or no children and a home check before an adoption could be finalized. Her ideal home would have no steps or minable for her safety as well as secure fencing. She is not suitable for a condo or apartment. She will bark if she gets lost to let you know she needs you. Or at times she will just stand there, for which we call her to come to us. She is very voice motivated. She is crate trained but understandably when stressed or in a new environment she could have accidents until her confidence is regained. She does not have accidents if she is not crated, she goes in and out of her own accord. Bianca walks very well with a harness while you talk to her as you walk and lead her. She has surpassed her foster family expectations by leaps and bounds. Diabetes is a very manageable disease with insulin around 25 dollars per vial which lasts a couple months. There is another 16 year old diabetic dog in her foster home so as long as treated and controlled, a diabetic dog can live a good long life. She very much likes to cuddle on the couch with her humans and other 4 legged friends and sleep with them at night. She is crated during the day while her foster family works. Bianca deserves is looking for her forever home to spoil and love her to the ends of the earth. She just exudes radiance and is a very very sweet lady.
