Looking for a family dog Daffodil is your girl. She loves children. This beauty is Daffodil, a Hound mix weighing about 50 pounds. Daffodil is a sweet girl who is good with other dogs. Her foster in South Carolina sent the following:
"Daffodil is very smart and trains well. She's very excited to see you. She's sweet and loves long walks and would probably love running with someone even more! She likes to play and really likes to be around you but is fine with laying in her bed while I was in another room too. She respects boundaries fairly well once she knows them (she stayed out of the kitchen with no prompting and did not try to eat dropped food). She would lay down while we ate most of the time so she's a good dinner companion. She loves to lean on you and loves to be petted.
She was quick to do her business anytime I took her out on the leash to the backyard - she knew exactly what she was supposed to do. We walked first thing in the morning (2-3 miles), again around lunch a shorter walk (1 mile), and right after work another longer walk (2-3 miles), which got her energy out and helped me exercise! We fed her after our long walks. We gave her medicine with peanut butter (other things like cheese, she wasn't interested in).
We fed her in her open crate so she associated it with good things and she was soon fine with going into her crate with a treat. She slept in the crate and slept through the night very well (plus a few snoozes in the morning didn't bother her). We crated her when we left her alone and she barked a couple of times when we left but seemed settled in when we go home & no chewing or bathroom issues. She didn't even get up right away when we would come in the door. A home with lots of room to run and play inside and out. Someone to walk her often and/or run with her. A fenced in yard would be helpful so that Daffodil can run around and play.
Daffodil is a high-energy, but very sweet dog that would love to be around you all day, whether you're petting her or she's just laying nearby while you work (she's never really under foot). She brought a lot of energy and love into our home and she will bring it you as well! "
Daffodil is up to date on vaccinations, is spayed and is microchipped.
