Just like any good blanket, this Blanket starts out a little cool but will quickly warm you up. Blanket clearly doesn't have a lot of socialization in his background. He can be very tentative and shy around new people, and requires a bit of time to feel comfortable. But once he does, this young guy shows you his fun personality. He is a cuddly dog who loves affection. He's playful and can entertain himself. And he's also learning all of his basic commands. Blanket seems to be a lot more confident when he is around another dog. He seems to love every dog he meets, and would be a great fit for a home that already has a dog who could serve as a mentor. We also think that at this point in his life, Blanket would do best in a home that consists of adults and older children. Blanket likes children, but needs to gain confidence before he'll be truly comfortable in a home that has the noise and commotion that smaller kids tend to bring. For now, the more consistency Blanket has in his home environment, the quicker he will thrive. With some patience and good leadership, Blanket should transform himself from tentative adolescent into a calm, mature adult dog. We know he'll be worth the effort. And don't forget that APA's behavioral team will be available to help with any questions. Plus, remember that when you adopt you'll also let us free up space so that another dog can join us at APA!
