Bones is neutered, UTD on vaccines and tested negative for FIV/FeLV. Approx. DOB is March 2009.
Bones came to us dirty, emaciated, and sick. He was living on the streets, and his rescuer told us about the torment he endured at the hands of mean people - dodging rocks, sticks, etc. being thrown at him; being chased, kicked at, shooed away with brooms.
Bones is a very nice cat who was having a hard enough time finding food to eat while avoiding his tormenters.
While he has physically recovered from his ordeal, due to the years of torment he endured prior to his rescue, he has some residual behaviors from his drive for self-preservation.
He is very hand-shy around his head and his back, especially near his tail base.
He will grab your hand with his front paws and nip you if you approach him abruptly - he does not break skin. He does require a gentle touch and lots of patience.
He is not recommended for a home with young children, or that intends to have young children in the future.
He is a playful and peaceful cat who gets along with the other cats he lives with. He would be the first to back down from a confrontation.
