Please contact Megan (email@example.com) for more information about this pet.
Booger was surrendered by his owner who was moving and couldn't take him with. He is about 2.5 years old. When we got him he tested positive for FIV.
FIV is NOT a death sentence. From the ASPCA: "An FIV-infected cat may not show any symptoms for years. Once symptoms do develop, however, they may continually progress—or a cat may show signs of sickness interspersed with health for years."
FIV is only contagious to other cats through deep bight wounds. Booger gets along well with other cats and has been living with FIV negative cats for many months. Here are answers to some more commonly asked questions about FIV: http://bestfriends.org/resources/fiv-cats-faqs
FIV scares many people off, but it doesn't need to. Booger is hoping you will be the person who can educate yourself about FIV and give him a chance!
Booger's adoption fee is reduced to $75 but a thorough background and reference check will be conducted.
