It was noon on a Friday. The smell of boredom and unproductivity permeated throughout the air. Katie was doing the usual at work, slacking off and humming old Brett Michaels tunes. Instinctively, like any other millennial, she began browsing the Internet. `Hey, let me see if Brandi Carlile is playing any shows near me soon!` she thought while devouring a bag of old Doritos. Who is Brandi Carlile, you may ask? Well, according to Wikipedia (he''s a guy I know
.he''s European) she is, `an American alternative country and folk rock singer-songwriter.`
Using her chip riddled computer, she scrolled to the third page of Google. There, she saw it- the words, `Brandi Carlile 39820 Charles Town Pike, Waterford, VA` and, `available today.` She should have known the risk though; no one ever goes beyond the first page of a Google search.
Oh, how close that was to her home! Assuming that, `available today` meant, `playing tonight,` Katie screamed in excitement (some might call her naïve, some might call her dumb we''ll just call her hopeful and dumb).
She arrived later that afternoon at Loudoun County Animal Shelter for what she thought was a concert. `Hmm, must be some grassroots charity thing Brandi is putting on. Wow, she''s so great like Lionel Richie, with less curl.` Upon entering the building, she enthusiastically asked for Brandi Carlile. An extremely handsome, strapping young lad (who is not currently writing this web note) led her to the request a gray, domestic short hair cat. Shocked in disappointment (who could have ever seen this coming?), she fell to the floor. Tricked again! Unfortunately for Katie, she was a crazy cat lady and already had fifteen cats she just couldn''t take another. Lucky for you readers, that means Brandi Carlile (the cat) is still available for adoption today!
