As Bullet drifts off to sleep in the cat tree, he thinks back over his 12 months of life. It’s been a long journey for sure! Bullet and his 3 siblings were abandoned by their mom. Too young to survive on their own, a good Samaritan took them to the county shelter for help. A mom cat who had just given birth in the county accepted the orphaned kittens in and started nursing them. He purrs thinking about her and how she cared so diligently for all of the kittens. But, a small female nursing a total of 10 kittens took a toll on everyone. This coupled with the mom cat developed an upper respiratory which was passed to the tiny kittens caused many not to survive. But Bullet remained strong throughout, never got sick and had endless energy … which is why the volunteers at Our Pal’s Place named him Bullet. Bullet remembered how a nice lady came to adopt him. But, once in the home, he became unhappy with the other cats and longed for his mom back at O.P.P. When he finally returned, he was sad that his mom was no longer there, but happy knowing that she was in a loving home. Bullet worked hard to make friends with the new cats in the Cat Room and eventually got them to play with him. As he slips into a deep, restful sleep, he dreams of his home where he can run and play, make his people giggle as they watch him and enjoy a lot of human affection.
