Our rescue will be at the Palo Alto Pet Food Express Saturday, October 22nd from 1-4pm and Sunday, October 23rd from 12-3pm. All of our dogs are spayed/neutered, shots current (DHPP, Bordetella and Rabies where applicable), dewormed, flea and tick treated and microchipped.
* If you are interested in a dog, please first read the biography on the dog (keep scrolling down for the bio!) and then go to our website, www.dpsrescue.com for an application. * We do not have a facility. All dogs live in foster homes. Arrangements to meet dogs occur after an approved application has been accepted. * We do not ship our dogs for any reason. * Our adoption fee is $400 for each dog/puppy. * If it is on a weekend of our adoptions, follow us on @DPSRescue on Twitter to get real time updates on our adoptions. We will also post at the end of the evening the names of those dogs who have been adopted: www.facebook.com/DPSRescue
This dog will be at Palo Alto Pet Food Express on Saturday, October 22nd from 1-4pm and Sunday, October 23rd from 12-3pm or until adopted. However, we do meet with those who submit an application and are approved just prior to the event (by invitation only) and they are given the first opportunity to adopt. If you are interested in one of our dogs, we recommend filling out an application prior to the event to be considered. Applications submitted within 24 hours of the event may not necessarily be reviewed.
Butterfinger is a 6 month old Terrier mix who weighs 14.5lbs. He came into our rescue when he was tied up to a neighbor's fence of one of our foster homes. Several people on the block said a strange car had driven up and down the street and then pulled over and tied him to the neighbor's fence.
Butterfinger is one of the happiest, go with the flow, live and let live type of dogs. He jumped into the neighbor's arms as if she was his long lost best friend. Then when he was taken all over the neighborhood he was meeting and greeting everyone as if they were friends forever. He came to his foster home, met all the dogs there and they were all friends instantly. He didn't even have an issue at the vet's office. He was licking on the staff and telling them how much he loved them. Gotta love this guy!
Butterfinger will be happy to join his new mom or dad at work if they have a dog friendly business. He would be a hit with everyone. He is also an option to got to the dog park or doggy day camp. If you're looking for a dog you can take to the coffee shop on Saturday and sit outside and chat with people. Or if you're looking for a dog who can easily join you in Home Depot while you shop, well, he's your man.
Butterfinger is an option to live with children over the age of 7. He is also looking for a home that has had a dog in the last 3 years. He is also an option for a home with cats!
**Not all of our dogs go to each adoption event. We want to make sure if you are interested in a dog that we have the dog at adoptions but that can only happen if you fill out an application ahead of time and are pre-approved. (Generally this must happen prior to the weekend)
**If you are wanting to submit an application within 24 hours of an event, please print off the application and bring with you as well as submitting it. You may still submit it and if time and volunteers permit, we will contact you. Most applications submitted the weekend of adoptions are not responded to until after the adoption weekend.
