Affectionate, Friendly, Cautious We haven't known Cake for long, but here is what we know about him so far: 1) He is affectionate, 2) he is friendly, and 3) he is playful! We suspect we'll know a lot more about him as time goes on and he gets more comfortable with his new environment and foster home. Cake adores for you to rub his chin! He wants you to invite him for some cuddling, but he is respectful so he will wait on a cue from you. Once he realizes cuddling is imminent, he will purr loudly! Cake shows great curiosity and responds when you entice him to play. He is a young, active cat. He is just getting around to meeting the resident cats in his foster home, and so far, so good! He seems to enjoy seeing them, though his interaction with them is limited right now. He hasn't been around any children, but he is easygoing and doesn't use his claws when he plays or is being petted, so he would likely be a good companion for older kids. Cake is FeLV+ (Feline Leukemia Virus), which causes a weakened immune system and requires special care. APA! provides some medical assistance after adoption. Cats with FeLV typically have a shortened lifespan. He is not contagious to people or dogs, but should live only with other FeLV+ cats. For more information, please contact APA! or read more by our Partner, Best Friends Animal Society: http://bestfriends.org/Resources/FAQs-About-Feline-Leukemia-Virus-FeLV Though Cake previously lived in a feral cat community, he doesn't seem to lack any social skills! Litter box? Check, he uses it perfectly. Scratching? Check, he only scratches on the cat tower. What a smart cat! And he is beautiful, too, with his blue tuxedo markings, white bib, and white shoes. Cake is certainly a little slice of sweetness! Contact us today to set up a meet and greet.
All APA! cats are fully vetted, spayed or neutered, and have updated vaccines and a microchip. Lifetime support is offered by our Cat Behavior Team. For further information or to meet this kitty, please email firstname.lastname@example.org.
