CALVIN IS A COURTESY POST FOR TOP DOG K9 SERVICES. PLEASE CONTACT NICOLE MANN AT 519-701-0904 OR NICOLEJMANN01@GMAIL.COM FOR MORE INFO
Calvin is a 3 year old Teddy Rosevelt Rat Terrier. He is tri coloured with a docked tail.He is neutered and microchipped as well as up to date on vaccines and deworming.
He is crate trained and house trained. Rides quietly crated in the car. Walks great on a leash . Knows basic obedience and loves hiking off leash on trails!
He originally came from a hoarder in the US. He was very fearful and under socialized. In the last year he has come a long way but a quiet low stress household with knowledgable dogs owners would be best. Originally when he came he had issues with other dogs, food aggression and extreme reactivity issues. He has come along way and is turning into a great little dog!
He gets along great with other dogs- but if there is a confrontation he gets in the middle of it very quickly (if allowed) and won't back down. He can though go into a dog day care are environment and mingle with large amounts of dogs and he does great. He won't initiate confrontation and will back down from it - but if it's between other dogs he has an issue. He would do best living with another stable dog - it helps his confidence. . He is though very very fearful of children and needs an adult only home. I have done a lot of confidence building and reactivity work but he becomes overwhelmed easily in a busy neighbourhood or when he's out and about in the community. He would thrive in a country setting. He loves cuddling and hanging out - his energy level is moderate to low. He loves exploring off leash and will stay close by.
