Raising a kitten requires a lot of work and is a commitment! Camellia will be an awesome addition to a family that can give her the attention, exercise, training and affection she deserves.
Health: Camellia has been spayed and microchipped. She is current on her vaccines and tested negative for Feline leukemia virus (FeLV) and feline immunodeficiency virus (FIV). She has been wormed and flea treated.
History: Camellia comes from an overcrowded shelter in California. PUP was asked to help and we are so glad we did. All dogs and cats PUP pulls from California come with health certificates, as required by Washington state.
Notes from Camellia's Foster Home:
This litter of white kittens has been a joy to foster. They are active, curious, playful and social. Although they love attention they are also fairly independent. If they see a lap to sit on they often take advantage of it but they are just as happy exploring their environment and playing with their toys and each other. They all get along with our two small dogs and are fastidious about using their kitty litter. Although we can’t know for certain, it appears they may be a rather rare Thai breed called Khao Manee. Khao Manee means white gem and this perfectly describes our strikingly beautiful kittens. Two of the kittens have what the Animal Planet video calls the coveted “odd eyes,” an unusual combination of one blue eye and one gold eye or one blue eye and one green eye.
It’s difficult to be sure but the kittens appear to have at least some hearing loss. This hasn’t affected their ability to live a normal life and it certainly doesn’t dampen their joy for living. But because of their possible hearing issue, it is especially important, for their safety, that they be strictly indoor cats.
Camellia, or Camille, as we call her, is the most reserved of the group. She is quiet and affectionate and likes to be right where we are. When she sees us she greets us with an adorable little chirp and runs over to be picked up. She’s a very sweet girl and has the “odd eyes” mentioned in the Animal Planet video.
Note: The above description reflects the behavior we have observed in the cat's foster home. Although PUP provides adopters up to the minute information on our dogs, we cannot guarantee they will behave in the same manner in a different environment with new owners.
Adoption: If you think you have room in your home and heart for this cat and you reside within Washington State, please go to our Adoption Information page. There you will find more information and be able to fill out an adoption application.
