Captain is a handsome 3-4 year-old Shepherd/Boxer mix male who came to us from a local county dog shelter as a heartworm positive stray. He had treatment to kill the adult worms at the end of December and did very well so is now ready to find a permanent new home. Captain is a very loyal dog who picks up new routines quickly. He had to go through 30 days of crate-rest post-heartworm treatment and adjusted very well to that. Captain keeps his crate spotless and may be housetrained too although we can’t guarantee it. He gets along well with other dogs so might enjoy a home with another canine friend to pal around with. Captain is a very easy-going, go-with-the-flow kind of guy who’s going to make a excellent companion for one very lucky person or family. He weighs about 50 pounds and his adoption fee is $200. Captain’s neutered, on monthly heartworm preventative, up to date on vaccinations, wormed, on flea preventative, and microchipped. All Canine Lifeline adoptions come with a two-week trial period to make sure it’s a great match before the adoption is finalized. Please email firstname.lastname@example.org if you’re interested in Captain. An approved application is required before we schedule meets with any of our dogs. All of our dogs come to us from county dog pounds so we have no history on them. We also have no foster homes with young children so aren’t comfortable placing any of them in a home with children less than 4-5 years of age. We try to respond to inquiries within 24-48 hours so if you haven’t heard from us within that time frame, please check your junkmail or spam folder to make sure our reply hasn’t landed in there. Captain’s heartworm treatment cost about $450. If you’d like to make a tax-deductible donation in his honor so that we can help another dog in need, you may do so on our website at www.caninelifeline.org or by sending a check to Canine Lifeline, PO Box 25742, Garfield Hts OH 44125.
