Our rescue will be at the Palo Alto Pet Food Express Saturday, October 22nd from 1-4pm and Sunday, October 23rd from 12-3pm. All of our dogs are spayed/neutered, shots current (DHPP, Bordetella and Rabies where applicable), dewormed, flea and tick treated and microchipped.
* If you are interested in a dog, please first read the biography on the dog (keep scrolling down for the bio!) and then go to our website, www.dpsrescue.com for an application. * We do not have a facility. All dogs live in foster homes. Arrangements to meet dogs occur after an approved application has been accepted. * We do not ship our dogs for any reason. * Our adoption fee is $400 for each dog/puppy. * If it is on a weekend of our adoptions, follow us on @DPSRescue on Twitter to get real time updates on our adoptions. We will also post at the end of the evening the names of those dogs who have been adopted: www.facebook.com/DPSRescue
This dog will be at Palo Alto Pet Food Express on Saturday, October 22nd from 1-4pm and Sunday, October 23rd from 12-3pm or until adopted. However, we do meet with those who submit an application and are approved just prior to the event (by invitation only) and they are given the first opportunity to adopt. If you are interested in one of our dogs, we recommend filling out an application prior to the event to be considered. Applications submitted within 24 hours of the event may not necessarily be reviewed.
Care Bear is a 1 year old Dachshund-Lab-Mini Aussie mix. She's about 20-25lbs and she looks like the spitting image of a Standard Dachshund with a dapple coat. She was an owner surrender to our rescue when her owners were moving and unable to find a home that allowed dogs. She is a very sweet, loving girl. She gets along well with other dogs. She is currently living in a foster home with a big and a little dog. She came in and within a few minutes they were fast friends. She tried to pretend to be shy for a few minutes but that act didn't last long! She's a happy dog.
Care Bear is an option to go to doggy day camp or the dog park. She is an option to join a canine brother or sister in her new home. She is also an option to go to work with Mom or Dad. She would be fine with canine friends at work as well as meeting new human friends. Care Bear is an option to live with cats in her new home. She is currently being fostered with cats. She is currently being crate trained as well. She doesn't hate her crate and give her a week and she'll love it!
Care Bear is not a nuisance barker. Sometimes those Dachshunds can be...But she has more the Lab kind of personality without the high energy. We were told that Mom was a Black Lab.
**Not all of our dogs go to each adoption event. We want to make sure if you are interested in a dog that we have the dog at adoptions but that can only happen if you fill out an application ahead of time and are pre-approved. (Generally this must happen prior to the weekend)
**If you are wanting to submit an application within 24 hours of an event, please print off the application and bring with you as well as submitting it. You may still submit it and if time and volunteers permit, we will contact you. Most applications submitted the weekend of adoptions are not responded to until after the adoption weekend.
