Hi there! My name is Carter! I was found tied up and abandoned in a school yard and my leg was hurt, but the nice people here at Providence Animal Center saved me. That was kind of a rough period in my life, but I think the people who left me did it so that I could be taken care of by someone, because they left me in a place where I would be easily seen and rescued. Ever since then, things have started to look up for me. My leg doesn’t hurt any more, and I feel really good being here. The kind people here have been helping me learn all the things a young dog like me ought to know. They have shown me love and compassion, are teaching me new tricks like “sit," and are taking me out to exercise, which I love! They are also helping me understand my other doggy companions here at the Center better. Sometimes I am too high-energy for them, my human friends say, and so even though I am trying to play, they don’t want to. That makes me sad, so I am really glad that my human friends here are helping me learn better ways of interacting with them. They say that although I am sometimes awkward with other dogs, I am SUPER with people! Even though I am young and big and strong, I aced a test that says I can live with people of any size, even the littlest ones! I’d be really excited about that! I love learning and am busy learning how to be the best family dog I can be. Now I just need my family to come for me and show me my forever home! Could you be that family I’ve always dreamed of? Please come and meet me and we’ll find out! Love, Carter
Providence Animal Center is funded solely by adoption fees and donations. Adoption fees vary per animal, please call the Adoption Center and reference this animal's ID number in order to obtain accurate fee information. The petfinder.com system requires that we choose a predominant breed or breed blend for our dogs. Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable so for most of the dogs we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed blend. We get to know each dog as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not by breed label.
To foster or adopt this dog please call Providence Animal Center at 610-566-1370 during adoption hours. You may also email firstname.lastname@example.org. Can't foster or adopt? Donate to help our homeless pets, www.providenceac.org/donate.
Our adoption requirements and a printable application form may be found on our website. With your adoption fee you get a lot for FREE! All the pets adopted from Providence Animal Center are given wellness exams, are spayed/neutered, fully vaccinated, dewormed and microchipped. Additionally, dogs over 7 months old are heartworm tested and all felines are tested for FELV/FIV. Adopters may receive discounted wellness care from our adoptions health department, and also get a complimentary wellness visit at a participating private veterinary practice up to 30 days post-adoption and the pets are given personality evaluations. It doesn't stop there- a gift of one month of pet health insurance is included along with unlimited phone consultations and e-mail exchanges with our trained feline and canine behavior experts.
Not ready to adopt yet? You can still guarantee the safety and well-being of any of our dogs or puppies by temporarily fostering one or more right in your own home. Visit our foster page to learn about the program. Then, email your application along with any questions to email@example.com for immediate review.
