Hi, my name is Chance and I am a 3 year old pit bull. My foster mom named me Chance because I look similar to Chance in the movie homeward bound and she thought that I was just an amazing dog that deserved another chance at life.
I currently live with a 2 year old, 3 year old and a 9 year old and am very well adjusted with children. I have a playful personality but haven’t quite figured out that I am actually supposed to retrieve the toy and bring it back to someone to throw again. I just chase it and leave it and come back tail wagging and no toy. My foster mom says I should figure this out with time. I do love my bones though any flavor, any kind. Great for when you want me to calm down for the night.
I do well in the car and am well behaved. I am an active dog that needs exercise. I would do best with an owner who wants to take me on a long walks, hiking in the summer and that is active and has plenty of time to play with me and give me lots of attention.
I like other dogs and greet them appropriately. I would do just fine in a home with another dog to share my days with or by myself so I can soak up all the attention and love. I do have a strong prey drive so I would do best in a home with-out little fur balls-cats, bunnies, guinea pigs, etc.
I know my basic commands like sit, stay, come, leave it, easy (walk gently), and lay down. I have a tendency to jump for attention. My foster mom has been working on this with me and I am getting better each day but given my size I would not do well with someone that is fragile or unable to handle me. I am kennel/crate trained and am accustomed to being in a kennel when my foster mom is sleeping or gone for a bit.
I walk well on a leash and really don’t pull too much unless the squirrels and bunnies taunt me. I would be a great family dog with an active family who has lots of time and energy for me.
I would make a great best friend for my new owner because I can’t get enough head scratches, belly rubs and cuddles. I know if you meet me you will love both my personality and how handsome I am. Plus I am about as loyal as they come, once we bond I will be your buddy for life!
