Claire was found living outside a doctor's office in a Hampton Shopping Center. She watched people come and go and hoped someone would give her some food. A few of the employees did feed her a little but she didn't have any water and certainly not enough to eat. We know she had been someone's pet because she seemed to know that people could help her. She was always sitting in the same spot at the same time each day so we started bringing her food and water. Soon she would let us get close but we couldn't touch her. Somewhere along the way, we suspect she had been mistreated. Finally we were able to rescue her and take her to the Vet. She was spayed and tested and given her shots but she was very scared so we placed her in a Foster Home to help her get use to people again. She also had an eye infection but got well quickly once she got some medicine. After about 4 months, she began to play with her toys and talk to us. She loves to be petted and brushed and she has learned to get snacks out of her treat ball. We knew she was on the way back to being a kitty pet again. Claire is a beautiful muted torti and she hopes to have a new family soon. If you'd like to meet her, please contact Betty at 757-508-5298.
