Clementine likes to be one of the gang, hanging out on the couch in front of the TV. She doesn't need to be in your lap. She's perfectly happy chilling on the cushion next to you, watching whatever you're watching. If you reach over and start petting her, she gives the best, barely audible, but unmistakable purr. A laidback cat, she never gets uppity. She doesn't need any toys. Other cats? Take em or leave em. She's much more interested in people.
Clementine's low-stress attitude might be because she's already weathered one storm. Found abandoned on a naval base in Colorado, her past is a mystery. We estimate that she was born in 2007. Clementine is FIV positive and has a condition called corneal dystrophy. It doesn't bother her now, but it can lead to blindness, so it should be monitored by a vet.
But now that she's at Best Friends, she hopes to meet someone who understands that a cat like her can lead a healthy, happy life. Maybe they'll even offer her a spot on the love seat next to them.
