Clyde came in with another dog Bonnie, they are somewhat bonded. They came from a rural GA area and have not been properly socialized. Clyde needs a dog savvy person that has worked with semi feral dogs before. He is extremely fearful of people. He will come along with you as long as he is on lead, he will allow petting on lead. We are working with him with TTouch and massage to allay his fears. He needs a calm quiet atmosphere, a couple other kind dogs, a fenced yard and a loving patient person to work with him. He is very rehabitable. Food motivated. Crate trained, yes, that is his sanctuary and safe place. We just moved him to Bradenton, so he can be around less dogs, and have a bit more training and social time. He is approaching me, but unless on lead will not allow petting. He is getting on the bed , plays with the other dogs. He is curious about all the new surroundings, a good thing. Once he is comfy with me we will start outside adventures. If there is someone out there that would like to work with a semiferal it is an experience that is very rewarding for both you and the pup. Contact me for more details. UPdate Clyde needs to move along into another foster home, with another dog. He is now ready for more socialization after an intro period into his new home. Ideally his new home should be dog savvy, patient, and know some behaviour and body language. He responds readily to food. He also retreats readily to loud voices, corrections not meant for him but in his vicinity. He can sense a bad day at work and retreat until your mood has changed. He is exceptional at reading people and thus may be with training a good candidate for esd once he has a calm steady environment. That is the goal for him now. If you are willing to foster this boy please let us know, he needs to move forward. We need the right person. He is a lovely smart boy and willing to please.
