Hi! My name is Cocoa, and I'm a 2.5 year old, 60 lb Labrador-Hound mix with quite possibly the friendliest face you've ever seen! I can't wait to meet my new forever family... maybe that's with you?
While I'm young enough to have plenty of energy for long walks, lots of trips to the dog park, and outings to farms or state parks around our area this Fall, I'm also old enough that I am settling into a much calmer adult dog and most of my puppy crazies are behind me. As much as I love traveling around, I sure do like a good snooze on a lazy afternoon, or hanging out with you while you get your fire pit going on some of these cooler evenings. It makes my tail wag just thinking about it!
The nice people who were taking care of at the shelter report that not only am I good with the other dogs here, but I also love children! I can't wait to play with yours out in the yard, or to listen to them practice their reading during homework time. It's all wonderful to me! Although I'm not sure how I do with cats, yet, we can certainly try that out when I arrive in the area. And, of course, I sure would love to take an adult obedience class or two with you, just so I can brush up on my manners and show you what an even better girl I can be! Additionally, though it's a little awkward to bring up, I could stand to lose a few pounds, so getting me on a healthy diet with plenty of exercise would help me out quite a bit!
VOLUNTEER UPDATE: "We took Cocoa to the dog park for a couple hours yesterday and she was a joy. She had a great time with dogs and people. She has a hound dog bay, but she keeps it pretty short. Watching Cocoa at the dog park will cheer up anyone!"
So, are you ready to make me the newest furry member of your family? Go ahead and submit an application for me today!
Like most shelter dogs, Cocoa may need a refresher on housetraining. She is likely crate trained.
The adoption fee for this dog is $350, which includes the cost of routine vetting, including vaccinations and spay/neuter. If you are interested in adopting, please download our Adoption Questionnaire and email it to Liz K. at email@example.com!
