Meet Comet, said to be the ideal dog per his foster Mom. We're not sure much more needs to be written. He is said to be "exemplary"! He is well house trained and behaves perfectly when left alone in the home. He knows many commands such as "sit", "lay down" and "shake". He loves other dogs. He hasn't been observed with cats or children but his calm and gentle demeanor leads one to believe he would be fine with everyone.
Adjectives used to describe this older loving companion include quiet, easygoing, adaptable, respectful, friendly, loving and obedient. Wow, right?!
Comet will even tell you with his behaviors and expressions what he would like. He'll pace to the door if he needs a backyard break. He will point out to you if his bowls happen to need refilling. He never picks up anything that you haven't given your approval on. He loves riding in the car, going for walks, being near his people and other dog friends, and playing with toys. He shows deep appreciation for all the affection he can get without being needy or demanding.
Comet does have well-managed (with good quality food, joint supplements, salmon oil and occasional pain medication) arthritis, so he would likely do best in a home where his calm presence and low energy fit in with your lifestyle. That said, he does like to play and go on walks. He doesn't ask for much but a home with no stairs, a comfy dog bed, a backyard and other dogs with whom to play. He'll also need you and all your love too of course! Wouldn't you love to open your home to this well trained, loving, graceful, happy guy?
