Comet is a 7-year-old spayed female yellow lab. Star is a 7-year-old spayed female yellow lab. They are a bonded pair and must be adopted together. Star has the white stripe on her nose. Comet and Star are a pretty pair of bonded 7 year old females looking for love. Star is the one with the a white streak on her nose and Comet is the leader of the pair. They are very sweet, quiet, mellow and well-mannered. These girls are house trained and have no need for crates. Both are extremely gentle and great with young kids and they are APPROVED FOR KIDS 5+. They enjoy exploring the backyard, but don’t really understand what to do with tennis balls and squeaky toys just yet, but we are working on it. They love long walks and do very well walking on a leash. Mostly they just want to snuggle and relax with their humans. Star is the first to jump up on the couch or bed and snuggle up against you. Comet will follow you around the house and plop her head in your lap once you sit down. The girls are doing great at mealtime, very relaxed on car rides, and sleep peacefully in the playroom with our resident dog. Star prefers to sleep on the couch with a comfy blanket, and Comet loves to sleep in her dog bed on the floor. They definitely enjoy each other’s company, as they rarely leave each other’s side. When one gets up to investigate something, the other usually follows close behind. Yesterday we learned that Comet and Star do have a playful side! Initially they had very little interest in tennis balls, but yesterday Comet grabbed a ball and went sprinting in circles like a lightning bolt around the yard, with Star following close behind. After a few laps around the yard, they slurped up some water headed inside for a snuggle session. These love bugs are always looking for affection, and although they can be a little shy, they will not hesitate to let you know they would like more petting by giving you a gentle nudge. Star gave a few kisses for the first time today and we've noticed that both are starting to wag their tails now when we approach them. These girls are truly double the love, double the joy. These girls will bring an endless amount of love and happiness into your home. Comet weighs 53 pounds. Star weighs 52 pounds. They are up to date on shots. These dogs are approved for homes with adults and/or kids ages 5 and up. These dogs are available for adoption from Lab Rescue LRCP. The rescue has about 50 dogs available for adoption at any given time. If you are interested in adopting, please visit www.lab-rescue.org and complete an adoption application. Within a few days of submitting an application you will hear from an Adoption Coordinator who will guide you through the adoption process.
