Cookie is a tuxedo Domestic Short Hair female cat who was born around November 1st, 2013. She lives up to her namesake from the book Cookie’s Week by Cindy Ward. She is a silly cat that has some very quirky and lovable habits. For example, she will chase her own tail as well as shadows. She is learning how to play with cat toys. While she is not a lap cat, she likes to be near you and will follow you around the house chatting and commenting on whatever you are doing. Cookie was found as an adult and does not understand normal cat social behavior. She is learning how to interact with other cats but gets overwhelmed easily. Cookie does have some special needs. She has plasma cell pododermatitis, this is a condition where her paws get swollen and can have open sores. She currently does not require medication or additional care but she may in the future. Cookie has had one confirmed seizure in August, she has not had one since. She has had a full blood panel which was completely normal. The most potentially, frustrating special thing about her however, comes from the lack of socialization with other cats, when she is around other cats she does not always poop in the litter box. However, when she is the only cat she goes in the box consistently so it may not be a problem in the right home. She is a really cool little cat and will make a fabulous pet that will keep you laughing and endear herself to you.

The fee to adopt is $90 (the fee helps cover these costs and the cost of the microchip registration).
The Yolo County SPCA is a private, not-for-profit, foster home-based animal rescue organization and does not have a shelter. All of our animals awaiting adoption are in foster homes. For more information about this animal, please email cats@yolospca.org. For more general questions, please see our website at www.yolospca.org.
We are still accepting applications on this animal; we do remove the pets from our site once they are adopted.
