Thank you for your interest in one of our rescues.
There were reported sightings of a tan orange cat at the construction site at 17th and Vine all winter long, off and on by my dry cleaner whose shop was across from all the work. I talked to the contractors there and they confirmed a cat being seen occasionally but plans and logistics to get the cat were not easy due to weather and hours the gates were open and the cat being around on that day.
However, persistence paid off and the first week of May, my dry cleaner said she had seen it the evening before. I talked to the contractors and the next am set two traps. I promised I would come by before 5 pm when they locked the gate. At 4:40 pm i walked onto the lot to find her in one of the two traps. The next day at the vet it was discovered that she was a previously spayed female. We updated shots and tested and she was neg. At her foster home she proved to be a very sweet and loveable lady. She is a little "miffed" at the change in her life and all the comforts and attention but loves it. She just needs to remember she no longer needs to be afraid of people and learn she is safe at last.
This sweet girl will do best in a quieter home. She is ok around other cats but would do great as an only cat who got smothered with attention. If you want to meet this true survivor who made it thru the winter with little shelter and food, let us know.
