Thank you for your interest in a rescued dog. Our descriptions contain all that we know about this dog today. We'll update as more information is known.
We urge all of our potential adopters not to fall in love with a picture. While we like to know what you like in looks, a dog is more than a pretty face. Our goal is to match you with the best possible pet for you and your home. We want to create furever families.
Are you looking to adopt within the next 30 days? If so please visit our webpage at and complete the application. You'll find it in the menu on the left hand side. You'll also find a total listing of all our dogs available.
Just browsing but interested in poodles and poodle mixes? Please drop a note to with your name, address and phone # and email. We'll add you to our mailing list.

What kind of home would be best for me? Cowboy is loyal and loving. He would excel in a home where he could be active and by his peoples side regularly. A fenced in yard with room to run would be wonderful. He will attach very quickly to his new home.
Cowboy ideally wants to be the one and only pet in your home. He is a handsome boy who wants all of your love and attention - can you blame him? He is fine with dogs in general, but prefers more submissive, laid back dogs. Cowboy just doesn't like sharing his people and stuff (including food) with another dog. He could potentially be ok with another dog given time, patience, and addressing his behavior properly, but we think he would ultimately do best as a single doggie. He loves loves loves people! He just loves to play and is a big strong boy, so we're advising he go to a home with children 10 and older.
What is my personality like? Cowboy is very laid back. He does not pull while on leash but walks beside and does the natural herding dog thing by looking up to see what you want him to go next. Not interested in toys or balls. Comes for the most part when called, will sit for a treat. He is learning to lay down on command. Loves to be loved on! He is very eager to please.
Here's an update from one of Cowboys' caregivers: I believe he can't stand being stuck in his run. While he's in there he looks so depressed.. But when you take him outside or just give him attention his face lights up and it will melt your heart! He did so great on a leash it took me by surprise. He walked by my side the entire time! Cowboy loves his treats and knows how to sit like a champ. He is a little mouthy when given treats, but has never hurt me. H e is protective when it comes to other dogs, so he needs to be the only one. He's another calm one, but isn't scared of much. I believe he would do well in a laid back home with kids no matter what the age. He doesn't jump on you and is very polite, I've heard him bark maybe twice and that's it. He loves attention and will give you kisses back for it
How I act when I first meet new people: Sweet and friendly
House trained? Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule as long as a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained. A dog house trained in my home may not be in yours. We will help you teach your new dog this necessary skill and based on your schedule.
My age: 4 years
Please note - we do not ship dogs. If you are interested in adopting, please take a look at the distance between the foster home location and your location and make sure you are willing to make that trip.
To apply, please visit our webpage at and visit the tab on the left that directions you to the online application.
Please note that when screening applications, we look at the entire home and then make suggestions based on what would be a good fit for your home. You are not being screened for a specific dog although we are looking to see what type of dog interests you - poodles or non poodles, color, age, etc. Others here may be a better fit for you. It is very difficult to get to know a living animal from a picture and a short description. Since we are constantly getting in new dogs, this may be a dog not in our listings yet. We want you to be very happy with your new companion and will make suggestions based on what you tell us about you.
