Dagger is an 8 months old female yellow lab. She is very sweet. She loves being with her people and other dogs, she also does well with cats, and small animals. She is crate trained and will sleep in her crate at night. She knows sit and down. Her foster mom is still working with her on other commands. She is learning the leash, and tends to pull but is easily corrected. She would prefer a home with older children since she likes to jump up on her humans when she is excited.
Dagger was born with a condition called Ectopic Ureter. Ectopic ureter is when one or two ureter is attached to the wrong area on the bladder. Therefore urine is not properly stored in the bladder. After being diagnosed with this condition, she has undergone many diagnostic testing and even a kidney removal surgery. She is doing well on medication and her condition has improved tremendously. She is still slightly leaking urine, but it is very manageable and usually only consist of two or three drops.
She came to Rescue Rovers as an owner surrender. When she came she had large rope burns on her neck and was terrified of the crate and was unsure of people. We think that she was surrendered due to her urinary problems and was most likely tired up outside for most of her life. She is now completely fine with the leash and people. Also her urinary condition is very managed through medications.
Dagger deserves a good home. She has been through a lot in her short few months of life. If you can accept her medical condition and would like to provide her with the warm loving home that she deserves please apply for her at rescuerover.org. She will repay you with unconditional love and lots of wet kisses.
