All of the animals posted on our site have been temperament tested. While not all are in the immediate area, once we have processed and approved your application, we will move the dog to our adoptive area for you to meet, greet and hopefully adopt. Sometimes we will have more than one application on a dog. That does not mean it automatically goes to another family but you should be aware of the fact that until you are approved and set up for the meet/greet.. the dog could get adopted by another applicant.
"Daisy Duke" (who also answers to Dukey or Big Mama) is a lovely 6-year old female Boxer/Hound mix who was surrendered by her tearful owner on September 17, 2016. Her housemate was also surrendered because their owner lost her job and could no longer keep her beloved pets. "Dukey" has a fawn short smooth coat with white highlights on her chest and paws, a long tail, and a beautiful face with soulful eyes and short 'horizontal' ears. "Dukey" has a sweet, gentle disposition. This girl literally loves everyone (people, children, other dogs, and cats). "Dukey" hadn't been treated kindly for the first year of her, but thankfully that changed when her present owner rescued her and truly loved/spoiled/pampered her the way that every dog should enjoy. "Dukey" is a cuddler who loves to snuggle up and sleep next to you. She knows some commands and will 'sit' and 'speak', and she walks gently on a leash. "Dukey" has been kept indoors and is housebroken. She is very sensitive and wants to do everything to please you. "Dukey" is afraid of loud noises (including loud voices since she assumes she has done something wrong) She is allergic to fleas and red food dye. "Dukey" weighs 71 lbs. and has already been spayed. We hope that she will find a new home asap where she can once again snuggle up with someone who loves her. It breaks our hearts to think of her sleeping in a kennel when she has enjoyed a real home for so many years. $50 of her adoption fee is sponsored.
